Teak Wood Furniture
Teak is an extremely durable and weather resistant hardwood from Southeast Asia. The naturally high oil content makes this wood stable when exposed to a range of climatic conditions.
A centuries old favorite of marine builders, teak has become very popular for furniture manufacturing. Teak makes an excellent choice for outdoor furniture.
Unfinished Teak Furniture
Untreated or unfinished teak weathers with time to a silver grey color and can be maintained easily with a periodic cleaning to remove accumulated dirt and some stains.
Using a warm water and soap or detergent solution, gently scrub the wood in the direction of the grain. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry completely before use. Using a pressure nozzle on your garden hose will help to loosen most dirt and debris that has accumulated in corners and crevices.
Synthetic Wicker Furniture
Synthetic wicker furniture looks like the real thing. Having one or the other is inconsequential unless you are more apt to lean toward being green. Synthetic wicker is just as lifelike as you could ever hope for only it’s made of plastic instead of cane or rattan. This furniture is very low maintenance and looks good inside as addition to the décor and outside as the main attraction for patio furniture. With very little in the way of time and care, synthetic wicker furniture can last for many years.
Instructions:
Things you’ll need:
* Vacuum cleaner
* Dish soap
* Soft clean cloth
1. Use the brush attachment on the vacuum cleaner to vacuum away any loose dirt, dust and debris. Remove any cushions and vacuum them, too.
2. Make a solution of warm soapy water by filling a bucket with warm water and adding 2 or 3 tbsp. of dish soap.
3. Wash the chair with a soft clean cloth dipped in the solution. For hard to reach areas use an old toothbrush.
4. Rinse the chair with clear water. You can spray it down with the garden hose for a faster, more thorough rinse.
5. Allow the chair to air dry by setting it in a dry place. Most of the chair can be dried by a towel, but there will be little areas that are harder to get to and those need time to dry, too.
